Actor Rejects Anti-Vaxxer Views After Voicing Contentious Coronavirus Documentary

The "Taken" star has provided his narration to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the safety of immunizations and commends former cabinet secretary the political figure.

The Documentary's Disputed Basis

Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a well-known publication published by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the pandemic for allegations that the virus was a result of a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.

Her collaborator, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with controversial media personality Alex Jones. Heckenlively recently posted hailing Neeson's involvement in the project.

A Firm Denial

A spokesperson for Neeson have issued a comment firmly refuting claims that he holds anti-vaccine sentiments.

"Everyone can understand that misconduct can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the comment states. "Neeson never has been, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the global charity reinforces his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The response noted that the actor had no hand in the documentary's editorial content and that inquiries about its assertions should be directed to the producers.

Major Claims Within the Documentary

According to the documentary, the voiceover spoken by Neeson includes several strong points:

  • It suggests that pro-immunization voices have demanded "blind obedience" to government bodies.
  • It argues that "medical science has become deeply influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is interviewed claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not properly vetted."
  • The narration also criticizes stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Concerning Covid vaccines, it cites a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Previous Controversy and Current Debates

It includes a 2004 BBC documentary about clinical trials on children, which was later the focus of a formal apology by the network for violations of guidelines.

Last month, the political figure directed the Centers for Disease Control to revise its official position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is repeated in the film, despite a new report from the World Health Organisation stating no evidence has been found.

A Past Record of Support

Contrasting the film's narrative, Neeson has in the past shown strong support for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."

"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's narration saying, "This isn't the end of our journey. This is the start of a fresh chapter."
