Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 charges include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
