Fans Urge Arrest of Person Who Seized Ariana Grande
Loyal fans of the actress are urging that a person who leaped a barrier and seized the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or expelled from Singapore.
A widely shared clip shows the Australian man pushing past media personnel and lunging at Grande while the performers walked down a yellow carpet surrounded by fans.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the gathering by guards.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "free after being taken in", though legal records showed that he was scheduled to appear on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.
Record of Disruptions
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account contains videos of him disturbing other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney performance in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last year.
"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is evidently a legal violation," commented an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.
"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user remarked.
Supporters Express Concern Over the Star's Well-being
Many supporters accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming hundreds.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote a further message on Instagram.
A number of supporters also faulted event staff at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals called for social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's videos.
Response and Premiere Information
In videos spreading on the internet, Grande seemed shocked when she was approached by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by security.
Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.
Many of fans had assembled in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore venue, including several who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.
The film, to be released on November 21, is the second of a two-film interpretation of the well-known theatrical musical Wicked, which revolves around the surprising bond between two very different witches.
The show itself is a adaptation of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a rosé sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.
They were joined by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of 2024 in the UK, and received ten Oscar nominations, earning two for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
