Netflix Chooses Spot-On Performer for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season

The Secret Organization is set to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has just been cast.

The platform declared recently that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bon Clay. The role can use their power to change into an perfect replica of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the original manga and cartoon version.

This performer is joined by multiple recently announced actors who will portray the organization to the screen, such as head Sir Crocodile, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as a key member, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as the monarch of the desert kingdom.

Though Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Escola’s blend of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the role. Besides their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10, 2026.
