Following a decisive victory at the Lusail Grand Prix, the reigning world champion has substantially closed the gap in the title race. He is now positioned just twelve points behind leader the British driver and leading teammate Oscar Piastri, everything is in place for a nail-biting three-way season finale at the renowned Yas Marina Circuit.

A Triumph Shaped by Opportunism and Precision.

Verstappen's latest win was not at all conventional. While he delivered a flawless drive for Red Bull, the result was largely determined by a costly strategic call from the Woking-based team. Choosing not to pit during an initial safety car period, McLaren effectively gifted the initiative to Verstappen, who capitalized impeccably.

"I'm looking forward to it, I'm happy to go there and give it my best shot," he stated. "I go in there with just optimism. I will give everything I can but at the same time, should I fall short, I still know that I had an incredible season."

Ahead of the arrive in Abu Dhabi, the championship picture is perfectly defined.

• The championship leader is in position to win his maiden world title if he finishes ahead of both Verstappen and Piastri or secures a place on the rostrum.
• Max Verstappen needs victory and needs that his rival finishes off the podium.
• The third contender, trailing by sixteen points, must also win and witness Norris finish sixth or worse.
