The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The renowned game designer passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"We are facing a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
